Privacy Policy
The short version
Unzap.app doesn't have accounts, doesn't use tracking cookies, and doesn't store the text you paste in. When you click "Unzap," your text is sent to a third-party AI provider to generate the rewrite, streamed back to your browser, and then it's gone, we don't keep a copy.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you personally, by design. There's no sign-up, no login, no email address collected, no user profile. You can use the whole tool without ever telling us who you are.
Standard web infrastructure does generate some technical data as a byproduct of serving the site:
- Hosting logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may log basic request metadata, like IP address, browser type, and timestamps, for security and operational purposes (things like blocking abuse or debugging outages). This is standard for essentially any website and isn't something we query to identify individual users.
- The text you submit. Whatever you paste into the input box is sent to our AI processing provider to generate a rewrite. See the next section for exactly where that goes.
What happens to the text you paste in
When you click "Unzap," the text you've pasted (along with which style you picked, or your custom instruction) is sent from your browser to our server, which forwards it to a third-party AI inference provider to generate the rewritten version. That rewrite is streamed back to you in real time.
We do not save your text or the rewritten output in any database. Once the response has finished streaming to your browser, our server has no further record of it. We can't look up what you pasted last week, because it was never stored anywhere on our end to begin with.
Our AI processing provider may retain request data briefly for their own operational or abuse-prevention purposes, under their own privacy policy, separate from ours. We don't control that retention window. If you're pasting anything sensitive, treat it the way you'd treat any text sent to a third-party API: assume it passes through infrastructure you don't directly control, even if nobody's reading it.
Don't paste anything you wouldn't want processed by an external AI service. This includes passwords, financial account numbers, medical record details, or anything else sensitive.
Cookies and tracking
We don't currently use tracking or advertising cookies. If that changes in the future, for example if we add analytics or advertising, we'll update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent first.
Third parties we use
- Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery, and basic security infrastructure.
- An AI inference provider: processes the text you submit to generate rewrites. We don't sell access to your submitted text, and we don't use it to train our own models.
We don't sell personal data. We don't have an ad network on this site as of this policy's last update.
Children's privacy
Unzap.app isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Since there's no account system, there's no age-gated data to collect in the first place.
Changes to this policy
If how we handle data changes in any meaningful way, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. We'd encourage checking back occasionally if you're a regular user.
